Guild’s Gym, the name of the new fitness center at Maryvale Orphanage in Rosemead CA, opened this past Sunday May 3, 2015. After a blessing of the new center officially opened it, three groups of kids participated in their very first workouts. An amazing turnout by the kids, staff, administrators, and board members lead to a fun filled afternoon for all.
We feel very privileged and honored to have been able to donate our time over the last several months to such a worthy cause. To see everything come together from the initial designing through a beautifully built facility, the new fitness and wellness center is something the kids can be very proud of. The opportunity for the girls to become more fit, more health conscience and educated about staying healthy is a win-win for everyone!
How Guild’s Gym Came To Be
In an effort to give back every year, we reached out to Maryvale after learning from one of our current clients, that Maryvale had received a donation to build a new fitness and wellness center on facility grounds. Once we heard the administration was in need of some guidance and professional help, we knew we could help them tremendously.
Over the last couple of months we have designed and built and small functional fitness and wellness facility for the kids at Maryvale. The kids will now be able to take 35 minute group fitness classes. We will record a library of these workouts that they will be able to watch on flat screen TV’s while being monitored by the staff. It is a fitness playground where the kids will learn proper form and have fun with different pieces of functional equipment like, light-weight Battle Ropes, TRX’s, Plyo Boxes, light-weight Dynamax/Medicine Balls, a track, a turf area, and even punching bags for boxing.
